The pectins present in the product bind the excess amount of water in the intestinal lumen, slowing down the flow of digest feed and facilitating proper stool formation. The addition of gum creates a protective layer of mucus on the intestinal mucosa, while tannins by decrease premeability of the intestinal epithelium limiting the tranlocation of endotoxin and the possibility of colonization of the epithelium by pathogenic bacteria. Clinoptilolite and tannins adsorb toxins and enable their excretion from the body.
